In-Processing

SO the first day was a long one. Plane trip to DFW. Run to the other side of the airport. Plane trip for 4 hours to get to SAC TOWN! We flew over the Four Corners and the amazing redness that is the landscape of Arizona. Turned out the girl sitting next to me on the second plane trip was also headed to AmeriCorps (from VT) so we sat there wondering what we'd be doing or possibly be going. And now here I am- an AmeriCorps member in training. Should be finding out soon what a Corps Member's life is like- physical traning starts Monday 5:30am PST!

As of right now it's a lot of listening. It feels kinda like church camp. A lot of silly getting to know you games and loooooots of guest speakers. I've been introduced to so many people in the last 24 hours that everyone looks familure. Most of the people here were pulled from the East Coast. And, for most, I'm the first Texan they've met. "Is everything really bigger in Texas?" Of course! Biggest country in one state!

Tomorrow we get fitted for our uniforms!
